What we handle
- Emissions testing and retesting
- Failed-test diagnosis and repair
- Oxygen sensor replacement
- Catalytic converter replacement
- Anti-theft converter protection
- Muffler and exhaust pipe repair
- Exhaust leak repair
- EGR and EVAP system repair
Warning signs to watch for
- The check engine light is on, which can cause a test failure.
- You hear a loud rumble or hissing from underneath the vehicle.
- A rotten egg smell comes from the exhaust.
- The engine runs rough or fuel economy has dropped noticeably.
- A heat shield rattles, or the exhaust gives off visible smoke.
- A test is due soon and the vehicle has not been checked.
How we work
We run the test and review the results line by line. If the vehicle fails, we trace the cause with proper diagnostics rather than replacing parts to see what happens. A digital inspection with photos shows you the problem, whether it is a sensor, a leak, or the converter.
You get a written quote before any repair starts. Nothing is done without your approval. After the repair we retest the vehicle, so you know the result before you leave the shop and can plan your next step with confidence rather than guessing.
Catalytic converters and exhaust parts
The catalytic converter turns harmful exhaust gases into less harmful ones. It usually fails because of another problem, such as a misfire or burning oil, so we fix the cause first.
Converters contain valuable metals, which makes them a theft target. We can fit a protective shield or marking so yours is harder to steal.
- Oxygen sensors: measure exhaust and help the engine control fuel.
- Muffler and pipes: rust over time and cause leaks and noise.
- EVAP system: captures fuel vapors and often triggers a light.
Good to know
Do not clear a warning light just before a test. The system needs a number of drive cycles to be ready, and an unready system can fail you. Fix the cause first, drive normally, then retest.
